Providing quality healthcare for the elderly
Our story so far...
Joanne and Stephen Walkden were looking for a nursing home for his mother and were shocked at what was offered in the area. Stephen was a self-employed builder and Joanne a manager for the Inland Revenue. They both decided they could build a home far superior to anything that was available and consequently built Laurel Bank at Wilsden. The home was so successful and the demand so high that they built The Beeches at Wibsey shortly after.
The standard of care provided at all homes is excellent and Victorguard's motto "if it's not good enough for our mum and dad, it is not good enough" is apparant throughout.
Victorguard Care currently has 182 beds and employs over 300 staff.
Future activities include two further sites in Bradford for similar projects and there are plans to invest £15m over the next three years in the area. Victorguard Care is still a family business with Stephen as the builder, Joanne is Managing Director, Joanne's father is the Purchasing Director and Stephen's brother the Finance Director.
